Boysh style, grey hair and an androgynous look are the distinguishing marks of Linda Tol. She is a young cosmopolitan Dutch blogger, founder of Life Style Hunters, the blog that allowed her to turn her passion for fashion into a job. In the following interview she talks about her story and she explains us how she realized her dream thanks to her passion and dedication supported by a remarkable sense of style.

Can you tell us a little about your background?

My name is Linda Tol, I’m 28 Years. Born and raised in a small town called Volendam. I moved to Amsterdam 10 years ago, the city where I still live.

How did you get started in the industry?

I started my career working in cosmetics after graduating. After being a project manager for a number of years, I started working in fashion at a PR agency. After three years of gaining experience in the fashion industry I decided to pursue my dream: my first website, Lifestylehunters.com.

What do you love most about your job? And what would you change if you had the opportunity?

To be honest with you I actually like everything about my job. I love my job, there is no need to change anything. Of course there are also disadvantages, like waking up super early in the morning to prepare an article (after a tough night and only 3 hours of sleep). Some people think this job is all about fun and visiting parties. But I work more than 12 hours a day. I’m passionate about fashion, I love to travel, love meeting people, discovering new cultures, new countries and cities. I’m super happy, I found my passion in a career.

Have you always aspired to work in the fashion industry, or did you ever dream of following a different path?

I have always wanted a career in the fashion industry. So I’m very happy and lucky it ended up like this.

What do you think has helped you most in your career or education?

I learned communication is very important. Staying connected with your network is necessary in this business.

What is a favorite item that you own and why?

I’m addicted to bags, so without doubt my Chanel 2.55 bag. I love all my bags, but she is very special. I still save her in the box. Taking her with me gives me power.

Which modern day fashion designers or fashion icons do you look up to?

Phoebe Philo and Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.

How would you define your personal style?

Androgynous with a feminine twist. I love to wear color, I love to wear prints. I love to mix and match fabrics and styles.

How many cities and countries have you worked in over the last year?

I’m based in Amsterdam but I travel around quite a lot. Each season I travel to NYC, London, Milan and Paris to attend the Fashion Weeks. And next to these fashion weeks, I’m travelling around for many different projects. As a matter of fact I’m answering this interview while sitting in the train. I just came back from Belgium, where I attended a festival.

Best places to grab lunch in Milano:

– Sumire, I love Sushi and it’s a great place to hang out.

– Al Mercato because they have great burgers, especially their Lobster Club Sandwich.

What are your future projects ?

www.lindatol.com I’m super excited about this project, my new website. A website about my portfolio, my inspiration, my style and my love for fashion and beauty.
